WORLD OF OPEN POSSIBILITIES FOR EASTERN UTILITY RETIREE
Since his retirement four years ago, Jeffrey Scheller and
his wife, Pam, have been busy seeing the world.
They've enjoyed the beautiful beaches of Italy, Sanibel
in Florida and Santorini in Greece, and the pair has also
road-tripped around the country many times.
"Since retirement, my wife and I have been able to hang
around and take amazing trips," Scheller said. "It's been
great to spend that time together."
This summer, they took a long drive out West. The Schellers
started at Pikes Peak in Colorado, nearly 1,500 miles from

their home in Mars, Pennsylvania. Next, they headed to
Wyoming and stopped by Grand Teton National Park, Devil's
Tower and natural hot springs. They concluded their trip
with a visit to Mount Rushmore in South Dakota.
"We had a great time on our road trip," Scheller said.
"We traveled a lot of miles, stayed at nice hotels and ate
some great meals. We had fun."
Scheller retired as a foreman on the Duquesne Light
account in 2021, following 45 years of service. He started
at Davey in 1975 as a trimmer, South Pittsburgh office,
Residential/Commercial services, and graduated from the
Davey Institute of Tree Sciences in 1976. He was promoted
to foreman in 1980, and in 1996, he was promoted to
master foreman.
In 2007, Scheller transitioned to the FirstEnergy account
on the FirstEnergy, National Grid New York, Central Electric
Co. and PSEG accounts. In 2010, he was promoted to
foreman for the Duquesne Light account.
Scheller said he and his wife have many more travel plans
ahead as they continue to enjoy a comfortable retirement.
"I liked working at Davey very much," Scheller said. "It
was a pleasure working with my coworkers there. I met a
lot of comrades. It's a great company, and it treats you right.
It set us up very well for retirement."
