Meredith, New Hampshire office, competed in the Connecticut Tree
Climbing Competition, won the aerial rescue event and accumulated
enough points to win the preliminaries. He was an out-of-state guest
and unable to compete in the Masters' Challenge.
CONNECTICUT
Matt Paruzynski, foreman, South St. Paul office, (pictured) placed
second in the Masters' Challenge at the Minnesota Society of
Arboriculture's Tree Climbing Championship and Festival of Trees.
Paruzynski's second-place finish earned him an invitation to compete
at the North American Tree Climbing Championship. Seven other
Davey climbers competed, including: Christian Feichtinger, manager,
arborist skills training, Davey Institute; from the North Minneapolis
office Josh Lapacz, tree care coordinator, Jake Hauger, foreman,
Jake Shocinski, foreman, and Alphonso Le, foreman; and Isaac Bries,
foreman, South St. Paul office.
MINNESOTA
Sarah Hood-Recant, foreman, Richmond office, is pictured at the
2025 Mid Atlantic Chapter International Society of Arboriculture, MAC
ISA's Tree Climbing Championship. She finished second in the Masters'
Challenge women's division and received the Randy Fackler "Spirit of
the Competition" Award for embodying the true heart of the tree
climbing competition. Also competing in the event were Jason Pauley,
arborist skills trainer, Davey Institute; and from the Annapolis office:
Josh Kruger, S&S technician, Jhony Velasquez, trimmer, and
Noah Treen, trimmer.
MID ATLANTIC
Sean Murphy (pictured)

participated in the Penn-Del ISA
Tree Climbing Championship.
PENN DEL
Kate Miller, foreman, Sacramento office, (pictured) placed first in the
Masters' Challenge women's division at the Western Chapter International
Society of Arboriculture's Tree Climbing Championship. Tim Hendrix,
tree care coordinator, Sacramento office, and Chris Bruner Jr., regional
safety specialist, Health & Safety Operations Support, also competed.
