possible, and we do that by having as many workers as
possible know how to detect potential dangers that a tree
might pose. Every time a tree worker notices a crack in a
trunk or any one of a hundred other structural defects to a
tree, Davey employees can work more safely and help to
protect each other."
Multiple Soil Services Workshops, held in May in Indianapolis
and at Davey Canada offices in British Columbia and
Edmonton, trained groups from U.S. R/C services and The
Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, Ltd., Residential services
offices and Davey Resource Group. These trainings covered
soil diagnostics, day-to-day performance in the field, hands-on
workshops and a comprehensive look into soil services.
"I was excited to learn how to use the techniques
demonstrated towards our work and recommendations
that we prescribe," Laura Leigh, manager, Urban Forestry
Western Canadian DRG, said. "It was a really valuable
workshop, and it is great to have a crossover with other
divisions of the company. I know my team is eager to learn
and will take every opportunity to attend events like this,
and I hope we can do more in the near future."
