outdoor tree climbing session. D.I.T.S. students
learned different climbing systems and tactics
including ascending methods, work
positioning, moving and stationary rope
systems, and the adjustable false crotch system.
GOLDEN OAK AWARD FACULTY AWARD
Matthew Gerke, tree care coordinator,
South St. Paul office, is left of Dr. R.J. Laverne,
manager, education and training, after receiving
the Golden Oak Award. This prestigious award
is given to the student with the highest
number of points on all D.I.T.S. assignments.
STUDENT AWARD
Brandon Ponciano, foreman, Dallas office,
R/C services, won the Faculty Award, chosen
as the D.I.T.S student who best exemplified
the spirit of seeking and sharing knowledge.
David Hernandez, sales and service
coordinator, Lewis Tree Service, a Davey
company office, won the first-ever Student
Award. He was chosen by fellow D.I.T.S.
students as someone they've learned
something from over the course of D.I.T.S.
