THE DAVEY BULLETIN
Adam Klein, district manager, Crystal Lake office,
Residential/Commercial services, walked a property with a
long-time client, then headed to his vehicle to prepare a proposal.
When Klein returned to share the proposal, he found the client
was barely responsive.
He dialed 911 and waited as
paramedics responded. The client
called Klein the next day to thank
him, sharing that she had suffered
a stroke, but was going to be okay.
"I can't imagine doing anything
different," Klein said. "She's a client
of ours, and I wanted to make sure
she was okay. Even if it had been
a stranger, I would have done the
same thing."
EMERGENCY HELP
Piper Schwenk was driving back to the office when
she saw an 18-wheeler truck swerve around a man,
as he fell alongside the side of the road.
Both the truck's driver and Schwenk pulled over
to assist by calling 911 and stayed with the man.
While they waited until an ambulance arrived, they
learned he was a veteran who was experiencing
homelessness.
"I got him a water from my lunch box, and tried to
keep him occupied," Schwenk said. "I'm glad I was
able to stop safely and help."
