Davey employees have repeatedly answered the call to respond to communities hit hard by these storms' damaging effects. This year's storm response is akin to when Superstorm Sandy hammered the East Coast in 2012, when more than 1,500 Davey personnel were working at the peak of the storm damage response to assist in the gargantuan clean-up efforts. Your fellow Davey employees are proud of and grateful for all the hard work and sacrifi ces our crews have endured to aid in these storm responses. Davey Chairman, President and CEO Pat Covey has a special message for the families, colleagues and employees who answer the call for storm work. Turn to page 4 to hear from our CEO. TAKE IT TO THE BANK Have you heard the term "mitigation bank?" Chances are you have, but do you know what it means? Mitigation banking is a service provided by Davey Mitigation through Davey Resource Group that helps restore green spaces in a way that can help developers with land projects. In Detroit, crews worked to make room for the creation of a new pocket park for A Place of Refuge, a non-profi t organization committed to helping the youth of southeastern Michigan transition from foster care to adult living. In Pittsburgh, crews did some much- needed maintenance along the Great Allegheny Passage trail, improving the safety of the trail and the views of the serene Monongahela River.
