Shields Oak Grove in the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden in Davis, California. Clemens placed 11 th overall for the men. CALIFORNIA Jason Mayorga (pictured), regional safety specialist, health and safety department, competed in the Boise Tree Climbing Competition held at Julia Davis Park in Boise, Idaho from May 12 to 13. Mayorga came in 11 th overall for the men. Picture was taken at the British Columbia Tree Climbing Competition. IDAHO Libby Bower (pictured), trimmer, Chicago office, placed fourth overall for the women, and won the women's Masters' Challenge at the Illinois Arborist Association's Tree Climbing Championship, held at the Salt Creek Forest Preserve in Wood Dale, Illinois on May 20 to 21. Kurtis Benninghoff, foreman, Southeast Chicago office, placed fifth overall for the men, and second in the Belayed Speed Climb; Eddie Fermoso, trimmer, Chicago office, placed 11 th overall for the men; Aaron Morit, trimmer, Chicago office, placed 10 th overall for the men; and Ryan Sams, trimmer, Chicago office, placed third overall for the men, first in Aerial Rescue, third in Ascent, third in Work Climb, and placed second in the men's Master's Challenge. Together, all competing employees won the ComEd Corporate Cup for having the most points overall as a team. ILLINOIS Daniel Barnes (pictured third from left), foreman, Albany office, won Ascent, placed second for Aerial Rescue, and placed second overall for the men at the New York State Tree Climbing Championship, held on June 24 at Washington Park in Albany, New York. Eamon Burke (fourth from left), foreman, Elmsford office, placed third in Throwline, and third overall; Dillon Engelmann (second from left), trimmer, Albany office, placed third in Ascent, and 17 th overall; Andrew Gardner (fifth from left), foreman, Albany office, placed 16 th overall; and Nicolas Ramirez (far right), trimmer, Elmsford office, placed 19 th overall. NEW YORK Evan Beck, arborist skills trainer, Davey Institute, placed first in Aerial Rescue, third in Work Climb, and fifth overall for the men at the Ohio Chapter ISA's Tree Climbing Championship held on May 6 at the American Legion Park in Marysville, Ohio. Christian Feichtinger, arborist skills trainer, Davey Institute, placed 12 th overall; Brennan Kissman, trimmer, Youngstown office, placed 15 th overall; and Andrew Steenberg (pictured in the Aerial Rescue event), foreman, Northeast Cleveland office, placed 20 th overall. The event was held at Chetzemoka Park in Port Townsend, Washington, on August 19, and was hosted by the ISA Pacific Northwest Chapter. Cervantes won the women's Masters' Challenge, placed first in Belayed Speed Climb and Throwline, and second in Aerial Rescue, Ascent and Work Climb, and second overall for the women. Mayorga placed third overall for the men, first in Ascent and Throwline, and second in Belayed Speed Climb. PUGET SOUND Pictured from left are Abigail Alm, foreman, Fort Collins office, and Jake Sickmond, foreman, Fort Collins office, at the Rocky Mountain ISA Chapter's Tree Climbing Competition from June 16 to 17 at Paonia Park in Paonia, Colorado. Alm won the women's Masters' Challenge. Sickmond placed 11 th overall in the men's division. ROCKY MOUNTAIN The ISA's International Tree Climbing Championship (ITCC) – World Championship was held at Hyder Park in Albuquerque, New Mexico in August. Arborists competed in various climbing competitions held by regional ISA chapters in order to qualify to compete at the World Championships. Davey climbers Libby Bower and Maria Tranguch were among those attending on behalf of Davey. Bower, trimmer, Chicago office, placed 27 th overall for the women, and Tranguch, arborist skills trainer, Davey Institute, placed 18 th . ITCC-NEW MEXICO Maria Tranguch, arborist skills trainer, Davey Institute, competed at the Southern Chapter ISA's Tree Climbing Championship in Chattanooga, Tennessee, held from March 23 to 26.
