DAVEY DONATES TREE WORK TO HELP HISTORICAL SOCIETY
The Chesapeake Residential/
Commercial office donated the
removal of two trees to the Talbot
Historical Society (THS), a volunteer
supported nonprofit organization in
Maryland dedicated to preserving
local history. THS features several
museums and a one-acre garden
maintained by the Talbot County
Garden Club.
The gardens' entrance had two
American sycamores in failing health
with significant storm damage. The
top of one of the sycamores recently
broke during a storm and fell into
the gardens.
"Talbot Historical Society and Talbot
County Garden Club are made up
of community members who donate
their time and resources to the
organizations," said Dave Piver,
assistant district manager, Chesapeake
R/C office. "We've built strong
relationships with many members
and received outstanding community
praise over the years."
Davey's Chesapeake office helped a local
historical society after two of its trees
sustained severe storm damage.
KAYAKER VOLUNTEERS AT IRONMAN TRIATHLON
Held in Sandusky, Ohio, along northern Ohio's Lake Erie
shoreline, the IRONMAN 70.3 triathlon featured a 1.2-mile
swim in Sandusky Bay, a 56-mile bike ride through
Sandusky and Erie counties, and a 13.1-mile run.
Christine DeVono, associate consultant, Davey Resource
Group (DRG), Environmental Consulting services,
volunteered to help with the swim event. Kayakers were
positioned in the water to assist with emergencies and
to be available to the swimmers if needed. "I heard about
the need for volunteers through a kayaking group on social
media. I am always looking for ways to spend more time
using my kayak and being on the water. It was a fun time
and a great event!" DeVono said.
