19 May/June 2022 | THE DAVEY BULLETIN right-of-way, laboratories and greenhouses, a container nursery, and multiple research plots and fields. Covey said both expansion projects are rooted in the company's commitment to investing in its employees. "So much of what we're doing in the third wing and across the street at the SEED Campus are about our need to continue to invest in our people, our training and our resources," he said. "All those buildings are part of the equation to attract people to our company." STOCK SUBSCRIPTION UPDATE Paul also gave a brief update on the 2022 stock subscription, which will occur in August. "About every 10 years the company offers a stock subscription, and the interesting thing is that there are fewer than 2,000 employees who currently work at Davey who were with the company during the last subscription in 2012," he said. "We're kind of going through a fresh education as to what a stock subscription actually is." Subscription documents were mailed to employees in April. Educational videos are available on the Davey Learning Management System, and additional information has been posted on DaveyConnect and shared in Employee Townhalls. Paul said the company will continue to share educational information about the subscription. Employees can email questions about the stock subscription to the corporate treasury team at treasury@davey.com. DAVEY BOARD MEMBERS RETIRE Davey Chairman, President and CEO Pat Covey announced the retirements of William J. Ginn and Douglas K. Hall following 15 and 24 years of service, respectively. Bill Ginn Ginn served on the board's nominating and corporate governance, compensation and audit committees, including serving as chair of the compensation committee for the past four years. Ginn is a business strategy consultant. From 2014 through 2018, he served as executive vice president of The Nature Conservancy, an international non-profit conservation organization. Hall served on the board's nominating and corporate governance, compensation and audit committees, including serving as chair of the audit committee for the past 17 years. Hall retired in 2008 after serving as president and CEO of MDA Federal, Inc., a provider of remote sensing systems and data using GIS since 1999. "They have committed to and helped the company through many challenges and are incredibly passionate about Davey and employee ownership," Covey said. "I can't thank them enough for their time, effort, commitment, leadership, and mentorship. We wish you all the best on your post-Davey careers." Doug Hall
