GOLDEN OAK WINNERS FACULTY AWARD WINNER
2 D.I.T.S. Students Assist
Driver During Snowstorm
Gavin Loomis, equipment operator, specialty services
Mid-Atlantic, and Welvin Osorio Morales, trimmer,
North Virginia West office, assisted a motorist who
was stuck in a snowdrift while they were at D.I.T.S.
Loomis and Morales were driving back after their
first day of classes when they noticed an older
gentleman was trying to use his lawn mower to
pull the driver's car out of the drift. They pulled over
and asked if they needed assistance. Another driver
stopped whose truck had a winch, which they used
to pull the car out.
"If you were in that situation, you would want
someone to help you," Morales said. "Be yourself
and just try to help people out."
