INAUGURAL EMPLOYEE SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS
The first employees to receive the new Davey Tree
Employee Educational Scholarship Program benefits have
been announced.
Davey launched the new Davey Tree Employee Educational
Scholarship Program in 2021. This program is for employees
who are currently working at Davey and are pursuing
education in support of furthering their career at Davey
and/or the green industry.
The scholarships awarded are between $1,000 and $5,000
per academic year. The awards are not renewable, but
recipients may reapply. The online application submission
requires an essay, résumé, most recent transcript and a
letter of recommendation from your supervisor.

May 1.

NEW PAID PARENTAL LEAVE PROGRAM ANNOUNCED
To meet eligibility requirements, an employee must
be employed by Davey for 90 days in a full-time
status and meet one of the following criteria:
• Have given birth to a child
• Be a spouse of an individual who has given
birth to a child
• Be a parent to, or stand in loco parentis to,
a child that was recently born
• Have adopted a child or been placed with
a foster child under age 17
Employees with questions about the new paid
parental leave program can send questions via
email to benefits.hr@davey.com.
Effective January 1, Davey employees now have
access to paid parental birth and bonding leave.
The parental leave types are identified as follows.
Birth Leave:
• 4 weeks paid birth leave for normal delivery
• 6 weeks paid birth leave for C-section deliveries
• Leave runs concurrently with unpaid Family
Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
Bonding Leave:
• Up to 2 weeks of paid parental bonding leave
in a rolling 12-month period available to both
the parent giving birth and non-birth parent
• Compensated up to 100 percent of employee's
regular pay
