THE DAVEY BULLETIN

January/February 2022
Q. WHAT CHANGES, IF ANY, HAS DAVEY MADE TO
OUR COVID-19 POLICIES IN LIGHT OF ALL THE RECENT
UNCERTAINTY ABOUT MANDATES, AND THE OMICRON
VARIANT'S TRANSMISSIBILITY?
Five days of PAL are available to
employees who are vaccinated if
they test positive for COVID-19
and/or have symptoms and must
quarantine. These 40 hours of
COVID-related leave are consistent
with the U.S. Centers for Disease
Control (CDC) five-day isolation
guidance for people who must
quarantine due to COVID-19
illness or exposure.
The 5 days of PAL are also available
to employees who must care for
a child or dependent under the
age of 12 who is quarantined due
to illness or exposure, or who
must stay home due to school
or childcare closures related to
COVID-19.
The 5 days of PAL are in addition
to the 12 hours of PAL available
for vaccination or booster shots.
Employees are only eligible for the
5 days of PAL if they provide or
previously provided a copy of their
vaccination card to the corporate
human resources department at
vaccinerecords@davey.com.
Employees can apply for the PAL
by reaching out to the COVID-19
alert line at extension 1900.
Our policies have not changed
with regard to mask requirements,
social distancing, in-person
meetings, restricted travel,
work-from-home flexibility, vehicle
occupancy and other elements. You
A. I want to reiterate here, Davey
does not have a companywide
mandatory vaccination policy. Our
companywide vaccination policy
remains the same in that, unless
vaccinations are required by a
client, Davey strongly encourages
vaccination by educating,
incentivizing, and removing hurdles
for our employees.
The most significant change
Davey has made to our COVID-19
Handbook is extending the Paid
Administrative Leave (PAL)
available for employees to get their
vaccinations, their booster shots,
for vaccinated individuals who
must quarantine, or have a child
who must be quarantined due to
illness, exposure or school closure.
The 8 hours of PAL that was
available in 2021 for employees
to get their vaccinations has been
extended into 2022. And we've
also made 4 hours of PAL
available to employees to get their
booster shots.

Handbook on DaveyConnect.
It's important to remember
Davey's policies are designed to
keep safe our employees, your
families, your coworkers, clients
and communities.
If we continue to care for each
other, we'll persevere through this
latest wave caused by the Omicron
variant together.
