WORLD SERIES OF BIRDING OFFERS CLIENT COLLABORATION
Employees from Amy Greene
Environmental, a Davey company,
and Davey Resource Group joined
PSE&G's Powerline Peepers team
for the 38th annual World Series of
Birding competition, hosted by the
New Jersey Audubon Society.
Birders flock from all over the east
coast to compete in the country's
largest and most prestigious birding
competition. This competition is
specific to the Atlantic Flyway, which
is a major avian migration route along
the East Coast.
competition also served a fundraising
effort to benefit the New Jersey
Audubon Society; the Powerline
Peepers raised over $2,300 collectively.
"It was cool to see how many different
types of birds forage and breed within
ROWs," Muller said. "It was amazing
the amount of diversity we were able
to see in 24 hours. It was not just birds
that like open habitat such as ROW
clearings; we saw shorebirds, marsh
birds, warblers, a bunch of cool hawks
and more."
"We were super grateful to
participate," said Liz Muller, associate
consultant, Amy Greene Environmental.
"It was fun for us, because we are
all birders and bird for fun on the
weekends anyway."
The competition took place over a 24-
hour period, in which birders raced to
tally as many species of birds by sight
or sound as possible. The Powerline
Peepers recorded 143 different
species within PSE&G rights-of-way
(ROW) throughout the state. The

Warbler, which are endangered in the state.
