Davey's North Detroit Residential/Commercial (R/C) office has cared for the mix of deciduous and evergreen trees on the property for close to 20 years. Recently, the Detroit North Commercial Landscape Services territory started managing the turf, shrubs and spring and fall cleanups along with the Detroit Lawncare office, which provides lawn fertilization and insect control services. Josh Leo, regional business developer, Great Lakes West R/C services, said Wexford is a great example of the "ONEDavey" collaborative emphasis on providing multiple services to a single client. "This is the first large client in our market where R/C was able to work with the client to bring CLS and Lawncare services in to enhance their landscape," Leo said. "That's a great feeling," said Andy Shaffran, district manager, North Detroit R/C office. "Because I know there are many properties where this is the level of service we are aspiring to. DETROIT CONDOS GET COMPLETE DAVEY CARE Wexford is full of mostly mature trees including crabapples, maples, oaks and a variety of spruce and pine trees. Davey provides full leaf disease programs on all trees as well as inspections and treatments, pruning, removals and fertilization. Luke Brunner, district manager, Detroit Lawncare, said they care for the turf for all common areas and all homeowners' yards totaling almost 12 acres of grass. "Wexford is one of our biggest clients," he said. "I would say it's our premiere lawncare property because we've cared for the turf for so long and always maintained it to such a high standard." While lawncare crews ensure healthy turf growth, Detroit North CLS crews make sure the turf and shrubs are all cut and pruned for exceptional curb appeal. Becca Ellis, account manager, Midwest CLS, said the sheer size and complexity of the property meant it took the crews several weeks to determine optimal mowing patterns after starting on the property this year. "They have a lot of different archways between buildings and other landscape features that make mowing navigation challenging, but that provides opportunities for homeowner interactions," she said.
