In April and May, the magazine accepts nominations from readers for the various categories. From July to September, the readers vote for their favorites. "This award is just a culmination of all of my teams' hard work over the years," said Natalie McNeill, district manager. "We work hard to focus on great customer service and quality care for our clients' trees. When you not only get nominated but also win an award like this, it shows that your hard work pays off and that your clients truly do appreciate you." Congratulations! Lee Mueller, market manager, Davey Resource Group, has been elected to serve as president of the Friends of Grand Rapids Parks Board of Directors. Mueller served previously as the vice president of the board. The mission of Friends of Grand Rapids Parks is "to empower people to cultivate vibrant parks, trees, and green spaces in the Grand Rapids community," according to their website. Congratulations, Lee! Scott Bucciere, fleet operations manager, was appointed to the NTEA-The Association for the Work Truck Industry's newly created Fleet Advisory Council. The council will provide perspective and guidance on association resources for the work truck community. "The council will offer insights on how the association's current efforts to support educational programing, vehicle optimization and design, regulatory compliance, risk management, alternative fuels, and electrification and technology applications are resonating with industry fleets," according to the NTEA website. Congratulations, Scott! Tim Bushnell, arborist skills specialist, Davey Institute, received the Tree Care Industry Association's (TCIA) Pat Felix Volunteer of the Year Award. This award is presented to TCIA member or members who have gone above and beyond to commit a great deal of time and effort to the success of TCIA and the advancement of commercial arboriculture. Nominations for this award are made by the president and board of directors of the TCIA. Bushnell was honored at TCIA's virtual Winter Management Conference. Congratulations, Tim! David Dechant received the 2020 Georgia Arborist Association, Inc. (GAA) Kim Coder Award, the highest award given by GAA. The person who receives this lifetime achievement award "demonstrates Dr. Coder's commitment to educate arborists and the public about trees and professional tree care," according to the GAA website. Dechant was presented the award at the GAA Winter Workshop. Dechant is a senior consulting arborist at Arborguard Tree Specialists, a Davey company. Congrats, David! Sandra Harbrecht Ratchford, Davey Board of Directors member, was awarded the Meritorious Service Citation from The Ohio State University College of Engineering. This award honors sustained and extraordinary personal service that has had a significant impact on the advancement of the College of Engineering. Congratulations, Sandy! Kyle Mack, sales arborist, Arborguard Tree Specialists, a Davey company, received the 2020 Rising Star Award from the Georgia Arborist Association, Inc. (GAA). This award recognizes "emerging leaders in the community association industry whose record reflects ongoing and exceptional growth in contribution to the profession and increased levels of leadership and esponsibility," according to GAA.
