30 THE DAVEY BULLETIN | March/April 2021 Dorothy Abeyta retired Jan. 1, 2021, following 4 years of service. Abeyta was a project developer, Davey Resource Group, Environmental Consulting. Keith Bennett retired Jan. 30, 2021, following 42 years of service. Bennett was sales arborist, Victoria Residential office. He started with Davey in 1978 as a district manager and then became a sales arborist in 2010. Javier Gallegos retired Nov. 29, 2020, following 15 years of service. Gallegos was a climber, San Diego Gas & Electric account. John Kazee retired Dec. 27, 2020, following 27 years of service. Kazee was account manager, Columbus West Polaris territory. He started his career with Pagura Landscape before it merged with Davey in 2004 when he became account manager, Columbus West Plain City territory. Robert Kerfont retired Jan. 9, 2021, following 45 years of service. He was a supervisor in the Toronto West office. Kerfont started his career with Davey at the Toronto West office where he worked as foreman, sales arborist and production manager from 1975 to 2007. Kerfont is a 1981 graduate of the Davey Institute of Tree Sciences (D.I.T.S.). Paula Linck retired Dec. 13, 2020, following 27 years of service. Linck was a sales arborist at Arborguard Atlanta. Linck started with Arborguard in 1993 as a consulting arborist. She is an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist ® . Debbie Louck retired Dec. 12, 2020, following 21 years of service. Louck was a client experience coordinator at the Quad Cities office. Mike Rolband retired Jan. 31, 2021, following 6 years of service. He was chairman and chief technical officer, Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a Davey company (WSSI). In 1991, Rolband founded WSSI, which was acquired by Davey in 2014 with 84 employees and has since grown to over 180 employees. He will continue to act as an independent director on the DRG board. Rolband was instrumental in the creation of the first wetland mitigation bank and the first stream mitigation bank in Virginia. He has been involved with 16 legislative changes in Virginia, including the development of Virginia's wetland regulatory program. Kevin Shilling retired Jan. 3, 2021, following 32 years of service. He was a sales arborist in the Columbus office. Shilling started his career with Keith Bennett Robert Kerfont Paula Linck Davey in 1988 as a trimmer at the Columbus office. He was promoted to foreman in 1989, sales and service technician in 1992 and sales arborist in 1997. In 2000 he was promoted to assistant district manager. Shilling is a 1992 D.I.T.S. graduate and a 1993 graduate of the Davey Institute of Horticultural Sciences (DIHS). Lewis Sims retired Jan. 3, 2021, following 18 years of service. Sims was a trimmer on the City of Newberry account. Douglas Smith retired Jan. 3, 2021, following 38 years of service. Smith was landscape foreman at the Greensboro office. Smith started at the Greensboro office in 1982 as a sales arborist. He is a 1992 D.I.T.S. graduate. David Woodworth retired Dec. 20, 2020, following 38 years of service. Woodworth was an area supervisor with Davey Tree Surgery Company. He started his career with Davey in 1982 as a foreman on the San Diego Gas & Electric account. He was promoted to general foreman in 2003. In 2010, he was promoted to supervisor on the Hawaii Electric account. Mike Rolband RETIREMENTS Kevin Shilling David Woodworth
