BEST KIND OF 'THANK YOU'
Nothing says "thank you" like a handwritten note, and few
say it better than grade-school children sending letters of
thanks for hurricane recovery work.
Eighth-grade students at Foley Middle School in Foley,
Alabama, recently sent letters to employees of Wolf Tree,
Inc., a Davey company, for their work helping restore
power after Hurricane Sally devastated the region.
Marlon Hudson, senior supervisor, said such a kind
gesture was a first for him.
"We've gotten verbal 'thank yous,' but we've never
received anything like this," he said. "The crews appreciated
them very much. Our job is always worth it, but it just made
it that much more worth it receiving the letters from the
kids like that."
Although Wolf Tree crews did not work at the school
specifically, our employees worked throughout the
community of Foley. All the letters were addressed by
name to specific employees.
One of the children, whose first name is Carlos, chose to
write his letter to Carlos Hudson, Marlon Hudson's son,
who is a general foreman on the City of Tallahassee account.
"It was heartwarming," Carlos said. "You're always going
to remember that."
