D., manager of technical services, the Davey Institute, gave two virtual presentations at the Western Chapter of International Society of Arboriculture Conference, one titled "Bug Wars: Alternative Pest Management Strategies," and one titled "Tree Water Dynamics." The conference saw roughly 400 attendees. Ali also presented at the 2nd International Conference on Plant Science and Research, hosted virtually in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and coordinated by the nonprofit organization United Scientific Group. The conference, which brought about 200 attendees, featured speakers from various countries from around the world and focused on plant physiology, pathology, and research and development of new technology with the aim of increasing crop yield and improving plant life. Ali gave two presentations, one titled "Biological Control of Ornamental Plant Pests," and one titled "Management of Staining and Galling Associated with Oxhorn Bucida Trees in Florida and the Caribbean." Partners in Urban Forestry Conference In November, several Davey Resource Group (DRG) employees presented at the virtual Partners in Community Forestry Conference, hosted by the Arbor Day Foundation. The conference drew around 800 industry professionals and visitors virtually to learn about community forestry and industry technology topics. Josh Behounek, business development manager, DRG, presented both introduction and wrap-up sessions to the conference. He also took part in a lightning round about technology, giving a presentation titled "IntersecTREEnality: The Intersection of Trees, People and Technology," which focused on using technology to manage urban forests while engaging with the community. Andy Hillman, project developer, DRG, also participated in a lightning round titled "The Tree Whisperers," which centered on how arborists can help educate the public about trees and their value to a community. Gregory's round focused on municipal forestry, and his presentation titled "Help, My Community Canopy Goal is Falling Flat," discussed urban tree canopies, setting and achieving community canopy goals, and addressing common challenges in the field. The Davey Institute's i-Tree team (Mike Binkley, Scott Maco, Erika Teach, Kevin Whelan and Al Zelaya) hosted a listening session, giving attendees an update on the latest version and capabilities of the i-Tree software and calculating the benefits of urban forests. Behounek said attending the Partners conference is important for Davey because it's an opportunity to share Davey's knowledge and experience with attendees while challenging the company and its experts to be innovative and relevant.
