18 THE DAVEY BULLETIN | January/February 2020 Davey employees supported the H2O Foundation's third annual Sporting Clay Fundraiser to help families in need. H20 stands for "Have Heart, Have Hope = Opportunity," and the foundation works with local school counselors from elementary and middle schools in Brunswick, Ohio, to identify local families in need. H2O purchases gifts and groceries for the families that are delivered on Christmas Eve and helps families in a variety of other ways. Since H2O's inception, it's touched the lives of over 250 local families. "Davey has been a huge supporter," said Mark Svozil, vice president and general manager, Commercial Landscape Services (CLS), and H20 Foundation board member. An employee tradition for more than 42 years, Davey's annual summer golf outing has raised $50,000 for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund over the past three years. This year's outing drew more than 130 employees, vendors and family members to Boulder Creek Golf Course, just north of Davey's corporate campus in Streetsboro, Ohio. The winning foursome of this year's golf outing were: Joseph Domer, manager, corporate purchasing; Derek Huntsman, business analyst, fleet management; Phil Render, business analyst, fleet management; and Mark Svozil, vice president and general manager, Commercial Landscape Services. $50,000 RAISED IN 3 YEARS FOR RED CROSS SUPPORT From left are Doug Cowan, retired Davey chairman; Pat Covey, Davey President and CEO; Mike Parks, regional executive, American Red Cross; and Bill DiGiammarino, corporate maintenance technician. "Seeing all the Davey people in one place and all the comradery and giving back to those in need is priceless." Davey also donated a large spade tree to be raffled off and later planted at the winner's home. "The families that we get to bless are going through challenges we may never know about. In the end, we are the winners because we are helping change people's lives," Svozil said. Pictured are some of the Davey employees who participated in the Sporting Clay Fundraiser. This year the H2O Foundation helped 53 families at Christmas. You can donate at h2ofoundation.net. LEADERSHIP SPORT SHOOTING FUNDRAISER SUPPORTS LOCAL FAMILIES
