THE DAVEY BULLETIN
NEW FACES AT THE MARKET
Seeking to garner new residential clients near the King of
Prussia office, Karen Brennen, client experience coordinator,
reached out to the nearby Upper Merion Township farmer's
market. After arranging to sponsor the market for two
weekends, the King of Prussia office team, including sales
arborists Matthew Keeley and Tim Marino, spent a day at the
booth meeting community members and fielding questions
about spotted lantern fly and emerald ash borer – both are
prevalent in eastern Pennsylvania.

SOIL EXPERTISE SHOWCASED
AT TEXAS NURSERY EVENT
Shortly after starting at Davey's East San Antonio office,
Michael Presta, sales arborist, visited Milberger's
Landscape and Nursery and discovered a ready-made
outdoor auditorium to share tree care information. The
nursery is known for its gardening presentations, so Presta
asked if he could join the roster to give two free, public
presentations on tree pruning and soil improvement, hoping
to draw in new clients. During Q&A periods of the event,
Presta addressed oak wilt spread as well as proper pruning
and fertilization techniques.
"Educating people is important, and it's exciting to meet
with folks and help them figure out what's best for their
properties – especially in this area, where there's various
types of soils to consider," Presta said.

ARMY VET MARCHES WITH PRIDE
Brandy Pearson, claims administrator,
corporate safety department, honored
her country and her hometown during
the Fourth of July Parade in Stow,
Ohio, by participating in the color
guard for the Acker-Moore Memorial
Post VFW and American Legion.
"You feel honored to do it, wearing
the uniform and being such a big part
of an event like that," Pearson said.
"Your heart swells up and I had a smile
on my face the whole time."
Pearson joined the Army in 2009
and was active duty for seven years.
She left the Army as a sergeant
and became a member of the Army
Reserves. She's been out of the Army
Reserves for a year.
"One of the things I miss is the
comradery, they're my family while I'm
away from mine," Pearson said. "It's
the comradery you feel when around
other people in uniform who know
what you've done and what you're
willing to do for your country."
Brandy Pearson was stationed at the
Pentagon for her final three years of active
duty. She was an X-ray technician and worked
in the clinic that services all the employees
who work at the Pentagon. "I thought it was
a joke when I got the orders," she said. "I got
to bump shoulders with a lot of decorated
service members and veterans."
