15 September/October 2019 | THE DAVEY BULLETIN Davey Resource Group's Tinashe Kuimba, UVM planner, helped a housekeeper during a medical emergency in Washington, D.C. While conducting work planning on the Pepco account, a housekeeper in her fifties approached Kuimba while he was walking through a residential neighborhood. She asked if she could use his phone to call her husband, because her phone wasn't working, and she wasn't feeling well. Kuimba recalled that she seemed lethargic, her hands shaking, and seemed out of sorts. He said it was midday and not many people were home. She called her husband, who asked to speak to Kuimba. Her husband asked him to call 911, which he did INTEGRITY MAKING THE DIFFERENCE The husband of the housekeeper texted Tinashe Kuimba on his way to the hospital thanking him for caring for his wife and getting her the help she needed. TORONTO SAFETY SUMMIT The Davey Tree Expert Company of Canada, Limited, helped sponsor the Toronto Safety Summit hosted by the Utility Arborist Association. "A conference like this supports the company's mission and values by showing our commitment to safety, while doing our part to advance the green industry," said Mike Perri, regional manager, Ontario Utility. Darran Malcolm, operations vice president, wanted to participate in the summit to show that Davey is on the forefront of safety and training for the utility arboriculture industry. "We are very visible, and we can make the difference."
