Being an employee- owner gives you more dedication to the company. " TREVOR WHITE general foreman Hydro One account Kevin William Martin retired June 2, 2019, following eight years of service. Martin was a clerk in the customer service department at the corporate office. Louis Stevens retired June 2, 2019, following 43 years of service. Stevens was a regional vice president with the Davey Tree Surgery Company. Stevens began his career with Davey in 1976 as a climber and groundman. He was promoted to district foreman in 1984 and general foreman in 1993, followed by field supervisor of the PG&E Los Padres account in 2001. In 2003 he was promoted to supervisor of the PG&E Southern Coast account and account manager in 2005. Stevens received the Outstanding Manager Award in 2007. In 2016, Stevens was promoted to operations manager of the Livermore office until his promotion in 2017 to regional vice president. He is a past member of the President's Council. Stevens is an ISA Certified Arborist Utility Specialist ® and a 1992 D.I.T.S. graduate. Gary E. Williams retired May 26, 2019, following two years of service. Williams was a foreman with the Jones-Onslow account. Thomas Byrne passed away June 5, 2019, at the age of 56. Byrne, an assistant district manager at the South Chicago R/C office, worked with Davey for 35 years. Byrne began his career at Davey as a technician in 1984. He also worked in the Kansas City office from 1999 to 2001. He was a graduate of D.I.T.S., D.I.L.S. and DI.H.S. We are saddened by the loss of Bryce Degood, who passed away on June 21. Bryce was a DRG utility systems technician on the Consumers Energy account. We are saddened by the loss of Sonny Loyd, who passed away on June 26. Sonny was a climber for Arborguard. RETIREMENTS James "Jim" Reed passed away June 11, 2019, at the age of 90. Reed retired from Davey in June 1992 as vice president and treasurer following eight years of service. He came to Davey's corporate office in 1984 as corporate controller and was promoted to vice president, operation administration, in 1985. Patricia "Pat" Stevens passed away April 11, 2019, at the age of 80. Stevens left Davey in 1989 after 20 years of service, starting in the corporate mail room in 1957. Her last position with Davey was personnel administrative manager and assistant to the senior vice president of field services. MEMORIALS
