16 THE DAVEY BULLETIN | July/August 2019 FOUR JOIN PRESIDENT'S COUNCIL The Davey President's Council welcomed four new members at its spring meeting. The new members are: Adam Cervin, district manager, R/C Needham office; Anna Davis, director, human resources administration; Johnny Page, area manager, Gulf region, Eastern Utility; and Frank Monteleone, national sales manager, Commercial Landscape Services. They joined existing members: Gordon Church, area manager, Eastern Utility; Chris Heim, district manager, R/C Atlanta office; Darran Malcolm, operations vice president, Canada Utility; Damon McKissick, account manager, Western Utility; Luis Mira- montes, account manager, Western Utility; Brian O'Niel, market manager, R/C North Chicago operating group; Phil Snyder, vice president, R/C East Atlantic operations; Karen Wise, vice president, environmental consulting, Davey Resource Group. Serving a three-year term, council members sit on various committees, which brainstorm and research new IMPROVEMENT ideas related to the company's opera- tions and present them to the council for review. The council, which reports to President and CEO Pat Covey, then passes many such ideas on to Davey management for further development or implementation. The council meets twice a year, in June and October. AERIAL RESCUE TRAINING FOR ALL EXPERIENCE LEVELS Over 60 field employees from Hartney Greymont, a Davey company, and the town of Needham, Massachusetts' Department of Public Works-Parks and Forestry Division participated in an aerial rescue event held at Claxton Park. "The training committee did a great job teaching, facilitating and challenging everyone," said David Anderson, assistant district manager, Hartney Greymont, Needham office. The event had five stations that were strategically planned to match the different skill levels of those participating. The stations included advanced climbing rescue, beginner climbing rescue, advanced spar The event helped the newer employees gain experience running the aerial lift, allowed them the opportunity to try new climbing techniques and do spar rescues for the first time. climbing and two beginner bucket truck stations. "The best part was everyone's willingness to help their co-workers," Anderson said. "It was a great day of training, team building and showing our commitment to safety. I'm always proud to work at Hartney Greymont, but especially on this day." The training committee members were Ed Pomerleau, foreman, Jose Artica, foreman, Ryan Maley, trimmer trainee and Misael Flores, foreman.
