DAVEY EMPLOYEE NETS ARBOR DAY AWARD NOMINATION
Davey Resource Group's (DRG) Lee Mueller, project
developer and forestry specialist, has been nominated
for the Arbor Day Foundation's Trailblazer Award, which
"recognizes an individual under the age of 35 who has
demonstrated leadership in forestry, community forestry,
research or tree care during the past five years."
"It's certainly an honor to be nominated," Mueller said.
"There's a lot of great people and projects on that list that
are deserving of the awards. I am honored that someone,
somewhere thinks I fit amongst them."
Josh Behounek, urban forestry market manager, DRG,
said he was one of the people that nominated Mueller
for the award.
"That award is very fitting of Lee," Behounek said. "He is
a wealth of information and ideas. In my mind, he does a
great job bridging the generations."
Several clients, partners and projects of Davey's are also
being celebrated through nominations for Arbor Day
Foundation Awards.
"Coming from a Davey perspective, as an employee of
Davey it's really quite humbling to see so many of our
clients and projects on that list," Mueller said. "It certainly
demonstrates that we are on the forefront of urban forestry
across the nation to see so many clients past and present
getting recognized."
Behounek said when you can walk into projects and partner-
ships with an open mind, it gives Davey the chance to be
innovative and create a lot of good in those communities.
"I think that's what these projects have in common and
it's where we really excel, listening to the client, creating
good partnerships and not trying to do the easy thing,"
Behounek said.
