IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Amador Reyes, Jr., foreman, Eastern Utility
services, was honored with a 2018 Tree Care
Industry Association (TCIA) Safety Award for
Outstanding Individual/Crew Performance.
Reyes won for helping residents in Panama
City, Florida, change a tire so they could
continue to bring aid to their community after
Hurricane Michael.
Congrats Amador!
Hubert Blevins, supervisor, and Mitch
Durham, supervisor, Chattanooga Electric
Power account, Wolf Tree Inc., a Davey
company, received Patriotic Employer Awards
from the Office of the Secretary of Defense.
Blevins and Durham helped Chase Nelson,
foreman, and a member of the Army
Reserves, by reaching out to the human
resources department to see what steps
they needed to take to help Nelson with a
leave of absence from Davey while he was
deployed overseas for a year.

Matthew Shepherd, project ecosystems
specialist, Wetland Studies and Solutions
Incorporated (WSSI), a Davey company,
was honored with a 2018 Tree Care Industry
Association (TCIA) Safety Award for
Outstanding Individual/Crew Performance.
Shepherd was recognized for noticing a fire
had started in a townhouse unit near the
work site and alerting the neighbors of the
fire. Due to his quick action, no one was
injured in the fire.

Davey was honored with a 2018 Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) Outstanding Company
Contribution safety award, which recognizes a TCIA member's proactive program to address
safety issues. Davey won for the Safety Mentor-Regional Level Initiative, with special recognition
going to Bill Bunker, left, operations manager, Eastern Utility services, and Randy Palmer,
regional safety specialist.

Joe Paul, executive vice president, chief
financial officer, and secretary, has been
elected to serve on the board of directors of
the Greater Akron Chamber of Commerce.
Paul will serve a three-year term. The Greater
Akron Chamber serves Summit, Portage and
Medina counties. As a director, Paul will help
the chairman of the board and the president
to oversee and guide the accomplishment
of the Chamber's mission. The chamber's
mission is to drive economic growth and
prosperity for Greater Akron by providing
support and helping to ensure the success
of the business community and the members.
