SOUTH CENTRAL PHC WORKSHOP
Residential/Commercial and
Commercial Landscape Services
employees gathered in Austin, Texas,
for the 2019 R/C South Central
Operating Group Plant Health Care
(PHC) workshop.
The workshop was instructed by A.D.
Ali, manager of technical services,
and Christine Balk, technical advisor,
Davey Institute. It was facilitated by
Andy Ferguson, vice president,
Western R/C operations.
During the workshop, the students
learned about insect and disease
management, tree and shrub pruning,
fertilization and nutrition, plant
identification, diagnostics, pesticide
use and safety.
Mark Mann, district manager, South
Austin R/C office, spoke to the
students about the concepts and
practices of customer service.
SOUTHEAST CLS PHC WORKSHOP
Students from various Commercial
Landscape Services (CLS) territories in
the southeast gathered in Jacksonville,
Florida, for their region's CLS Plant
Health Care (PHC) Workshop.
The workshop was instructed by A.D.
Ali, manager of technical services,
and Manny Nassar, technical advisor,
Davey Institute, along with Jason
Bassler, regional manager, CLS
Southern Region.

They also were given the opportunity
to do some hands-on training on
equipment safety and maintenance.
The students had the opportunity
to do hands-on equipment safety
and maintenance. Madison Law and
Sophia Murphy, PHC technicians,
South Houston R/C office, discussed
spray truck maintenance and proper
equipment care.
