31 March/April 2019 | THE DAVEY BULLETIN Lisimaco Alvis retired Jan. 20, 2019, following 8 years of service. Alvis was an equipment operator on the Rappahannock Electric Company account. Karen Breitbart retired Jan. 13, 2019, following 5 years of service. Breitbart was a client experience coordinator in the Dallas office. Michael Burke retired Feb. 3, 2019, following 3 years of service. Burke was a UVM technician on the PECO/BGE account. Charles Daum retired Feb. 3, 2019, following 35 years of service. Daum was a manager in the corporate purchasing department. Daum started with Davey in 1983 as a technician in the East Cleveland office. He was promoted to administrative technician for the equipment department in 1986. In 1989 he was named customer relations supervisor. In 1991 he was promoted to supervisor, R/C billing services, and a year later became field services coordinator for R/C services. In 2008 he was named district manager of the Orlando office. In 2011 he was named specialist for the operations support services group, and in 2014 was promoted to manager of purchasing. Joe Engberg retired Feb. 3, 2019, following 33 years of service. Engberg was a safety program manager in the corporate safety department. Engberg joined Davey in 2008 as part of Angus Hill Joe Engberg Charles Daum Greg Mazur The Care of Trees acquisition with 23 years of service. Engberg served in varying roles in the safety department, including most recently overseeing programming for the Davey Personal Excellence seminar held annually in January. Angus Hill retired Dec. 31, 2018, following 31 years of service. Hill was a regional manager in the Edmonton office. Hill joined Davey in 1985 as a groundperson on the Red Deer Utility account. In 1987 he was promoted to foreman on the account in Sylvan Lake, Alberta. In 1993 he transitioned to the Calgary Utilities account and in 1995 became a general foreman. In 2015 he was promoted to regional manager of Alberta Utility, mechanical operations. Greg Mazur retired Jan. 20, 2019, ollowing 37 years of service. Mazur was a technical advisor in the Davey Institute. Mazur started with Davey in 1981 as a Lawnscape area agronomist at the Davey Institute. He served in various technical advisory and instructional capacities during his career, including for D.I.H.S., D.I.T.S. and other training courses. Mazur was a past member of the Davey President's Council. Henry Hal Norton retired Jan. 6, 2019, following 3 years of service. Norton was a foreman on the Kent Utility DEC Western account. George Payton retired Feb. 3, 2019, following 2 years of service. Payton was a UVM technician on the PECO/BGE account. Dan Powell retired Feb. 3, 2019, following 14 years of service. Powell was district manager of the Naples/Ft. Myers office. Robert Wells retired Jan. 27, 2019, following 6 years of service. Wells was a landscape technician in Davey Golf South. RETIREMENTS MEMORIALS Allyene Wolf, retiree, passed away Jan. 31, 2019, at the age of 101. Wolf retired in 1983 as an administrative assistant following 32 years of service. She started at Davey in 1951 in the stenographic pool and worked for several company executives during her career, including O.B. Crosser. CORRECTION The January/February issue of The Bulletin incorrectly stated George Dennett retired in November 2018 with 15 years of service. Dennett retired with 44 years of service.
