5 January/February 2019 | THE DAVEY BULLETIN RICHMOND OFFICE Mark Bennett, David Duenas, Jorge Gonzales, Jason Lauffenburger A mammoth oak tree was uprooted from our neighbor's home on Oct. 11, 2018, during the windstorm created by Hurricane Michael resulting in extensive damage to our home. The tree itself created a virtual jungle in our yard with several massive limbs falling on our home. Mark Bennett, the district manager, was quick to respond to our request for assistance. He surveyed the damage and assembled a team of skilled people to remove the tree from our property. We appreciate Mr. Bennett's professional approach and the rapid response he put into action. Removing the tree took three days. The team, led by David, did an absolute superior job of removing the tree and cleaning up the huge mess that the tree made. David was extremely professional and personable, as was everyone on his team – and we greatly appreciate it. We can't say enough about the fantastic job that was done. The Earth Day Park property has been a challenge for crews to manage. It has been very well maintained since Raul has been assigned to the property for the past two years. Raul has done an excellent job with other Davey crew members managing the Forrestal planting project during the spring months of 2018. This was a large and complex planting project. It has gone very smoothly and the attention to detail Raul brought to the project was a great reassurance. Given that this project has caught the attention of U.S. Department of Energy upper management, Raul's dependability on this project has been a real asset. Raul also did an excellent job installing new plantings at Liberty center this spring as well as a stepping stone path. Raul's skill set and attention to detail, steady performance and positive attitude is greatly appreciated by the GSA landscape program staff.
