LEADERSHIP
HIGH SCHOOLERS TEST THEIR
OUTDOOR KNOWLEDGE
Ohio high schoolers showed off their knowledge of soils, forestry, wildlife, aquatic
ecology and current environmental issues in the 2018 Ohio Envirothon. For the
past seven years, Davey has supported the state-wide initiative by attending the
college and career fair portion of the event and giving students the opportunity
to learn about some of the many different career paths in the green industry.
Mark Noark and Nick Serdy attended the 2018 Ohio Envirothon, which was held
at Cedarville University.
PAYING IT FORWARD
Gina Wolf, client experience coordinator, Southeast
Seattle R/C office, volunteered for the "spruce-up
the place" event at Acres of Diamonds. Acres of
Diamonds is a shelter for women, and women with
children, who are victims of domestic abuse or neglect.
They receive a place to live, counseling, help obtaining
GEDs, assistance with finding jobs and eventually
independent housing.
The event, coordinated by Davey client Lori Gill & Associates,
involved many local business that sent volunteers, Wolf said.
"I was in charge of pulling weeds in the flower beds, spreading bark mulch, and
finally got to use my nice pruning shears that were a Davey gift a few years back,"
Wolf said. "I was proud to donate my time, on Davey's behalf, for this project."

OWNER'S BOX
"
Being an employee-
owner is about pride.
Being able to come
to a company that
I believe in and make
sure that I'm part of
and being involved
with on a daily basis.
Everything you do,
you think about it
more so than if
you weren't an
employee-owner.
