THE DAVEY BULLETIN
SUPPORTING UNDERPRIVILEGED YOUTH
Davey participated in the annual Christie Lake Kids Camp
cleanup day to support the camp, which is specifically
designed to meet the needs of children from low-income
families throughout the Ottawa area.
Hydro Ottawa, a longtime client, has been involved in this
project for several years and invited Davey to join in on the
community outreach. While the camp includes all the fun
outdoor activities of your typical summer camp, their
curriculum emphasizes developing the campers' physical
and social skills during a two-week stay.
The annual cleanup day is all about getting the camp ready
for the kids to enjoy throughout the summer. Davey donated
a day of work, a bucket truck and six employees. The day
was spent removing dead and hazardous trees, pruning
vegetation around power lines and clearing some of the
trails for hiking.
Davey donated a day of work to the Christie Lake Kids Camp for
the third year in a row.
LEADERSHIP
OUT-MUSCLING CANCER
Davey's North Philadelphia Residential/Commercial office
sponsored and participated in the annual Muscle Up Against
Cancer event to raise money for the American Cancer
Society. The theme of the event changes annually, and this
year it was a car show with a special touch-a-truck section
for children.
"We've participated in this event for many years now. Sauers
Ice Management is the organizer and we work closely with
them on many projects, so we are happy to support them in
this annual fundraiser," said Jason Parker, district manager of
Davey's North Philadelphia R/C office.
Davey supplied a bucket truck for the event.
Jason Parker and John Gehringer from the North Philadelphia R/C
office visited with attendees of the event.
GOLF OUTING BENEFITS
RED CROSS
In 2018 Davey's summer golf outing, an employee tradition
for more than 41 years, raised $20,000 for the American
Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
With the commemorative check are, from left: Jack McCabe,
vice president and general manager, Davey Resource Group
Utility Vegetation Management and American Red Cross
board member; Jorge Martinez, chief operating officer,
American Red Cross; Pat Covey, Davey President and CEO;
Mike Parks, regional executive, American Red Cross;
and Richard Foote, Davey's vice president of business
development and client services for R/C services and
chair of the golf committee.
Davey's annual golf outing once again supported the Red Cross Disaster
Relief Fund in 2018 to help victims of natural disasters.
