29 September/October 2018 | THE DAVEY BULLETIN Urbain Arsenault retired July 24, 2018, following 32 years of service. Arsenault was a foreman on the Fortis AB Central account. Robert Cole retired April 15, 2018, following 7 years of service. Cole was a trimmer on the PSEG account. William A. Cooper, III, retired July 29, 2018, following 30 years of service. Cooper was a Plant Health Care technician in the South Chicago office. Chrysteen Graf retired Aug. 26, 2018, following 22 years of service. Graf was a client experience coordinator in the Cincinnati office. Michael P. Lang retired Aug. 19, 2018, following 1 year of service. Lang was a trimmer in the North Pittsburgh office. Scott Lindesmith retired June 10, 2018, following 28 years of service. Lindesmith was a sales arborist in the West Columbus office. Agustin Olibarez retired July 22, 2018, following 14 years of service. Olibarez was a foreman on the San Diego Gas and Electric account. Gary Ouellette retired Sept. 2, 2018, following 38 years of service. Ouellette was a foreman in the South Detroit office. Ouellette joined Davey in 1979 as a Lawnscape technician in the Detroit office. In 1986, he attended the Davey Institute of Tree Sciences. By 2017, Ouellette had achieved 32 consecutive years on the Safety Honor Road list. Barbara Smith retired Aug. 19, 2018, following 20 years of service. Smith was an office administrator in Davey Resource Group. Dietrich Smith retired Aug. 5, 2018, following 23 years of service. Smith was a general foreman on the PSEG firm bid account. RETIREMENTS William A. Cooper, III Gary Ouellette Howard Bowles Neil Wilson, retiree, passed away July 17, 2018. Wilson retired in 2010 as district manager of the Burnaby office. Wilson joined Davey in 1990 as part of the Vancouver Tree People acquisition. Wilson had served as president of the company, which at the time was the largest Residential/ Commercial tree care company in the Vancouver, British Columbia, area. Vancouver Tree People was founded in 1952 and significantly bolstered the market presence of The Davey Tree Expert Company of Canada, Ltd., in the Pacific Northwest. A grove of douglas fir trees will be planted in Wilson's memory. Howard Bowles, retiree, passed away Sept. 12, 2018. Bowles retired in 2012 as senior vice president and general manager of the Davey Tree Surgery Company. He started with Davey in 1966 as a climber on the San Diego Gas & Electric account. A 1973 graduate of D.I.T.S., Bowles earned several promotions and served in a variety of capacities during his nearly 46-year Davey career. He was elected a director of the Davey Tree Surgery Company in 1989. And Bowles received Davey's most prestigious honor, the John Davey Award of Excellence, in 2000. In 2009, Bowles received the Utility Arborist Association Lifetime Achievement Award. The award recognizes those who reach many milestones during a career as a utility arborist. When asked during a 2017 interview about a proud moment in his career, Bowles said the many times he helped clients overcome challenges set by new regulations. "Our job was to analyze the project, understand it and then help our utility client be successful," Bowles said. "And when those would come to pass, that would feel real good for us. So, we were proud of those moments." IN MEMORIAM
