HISTORY IN THE JUNGLES OF MEXICO
On a trip into the dense jungles of
Mexico, Amy and John Connelly took
the opportunity to explore the ancient
Mayan ruins at Coba dating to between
600 B.C. and 900 B.C.
The couple work at Wetland Studies and
Solutions, Inc., a Davey company. They
packed a copy of The Bulletin along with
plenty of water and sunscreen as they
traversed the tropical Yucatan Peninsula,

DAVEY AROUND THE WORLD
Amy and John Connelly scaled the
Nohuc Mul pyramid in Coba, Mexico,
while on vacation.
which juts into the Gulf of Mexico like
an emerald whale's tail.
The Connellys climbed the 120 stairs
to the top of the Nohuc Mul pyramid
for a breathtaking view above the thick
jungle canopy. In its heyday, an estimated
100,000 people lived within
the Coba domain. Today,
the remote destination
is largely uncivilized but
for the cluster of shops and restaurants
catering to tourists.
