HISTORY IN THE JUNGLES OF MEXICO On a trip into the dense jungles of Mexico, Amy and John Connelly took the opportunity to explore the ancient Mayan ruins at Coba dating to between 600 B.C. and 900 B.C. The couple work at Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a Davey company. They packed a copy of The Bulletin along with plenty of water and sunscreen as they traversed the tropical Yucatan Peninsula, The Davey Tree Expert Company P.O. Box 5193 Kent, Ohio 44240-5193 DAVEY AROUND THE WORLD Amy and John Connelly scaled the Nohuc Mul pyramid in Coba, Mexico, while on vacation. which juts into the Gulf of Mexico like an emerald whale's tail. The Connellys climbed the 120 stairs to the top of the Nohuc Mul pyramid for a breathtaking view above the thick jungle canopy. In its heyday, an estimated 100,000 people lived within the Coba domain. Today, the remote destination is largely uncivilized but for the cluster of shops and restaurants catering to tourists.
