SAFETY HOLDS PERSONAL EXCELLENCE SEMINAR IN KENT
During the Davey Personal Excellence
Seminar (DPE) in January, 34
employees came together to focus
on how to mitigate the potential for
human error before incidents occur.
The day-and-a-half seminar was

to be of value. At Davey, safety is a
core value so that everyone may go
home safe.
"You never want to say, 'I should have,'
when it's too late and you have to face
something you don't want to face,"
Wilson said.
Remember, safety is job number one
for us all.

WSSI HELPS DEVELOP U.S. CAPITOL WETLANDS PLAN
Over the past two years, Wetland Studies and Solutions,
Inc. (WSSI), a Davey company, has been working with the
District of Columbia Department of Energy and Environment
(DOEE) to update the district's Wetland Conservation Plan
from its 1997 version.
As part of this effort, WSSI GIS and environmental science
staff completed a desktop review and analysis for the
presence of wetlands in the entire district, performed
months of field work to assess wetlands and helped develop
the written conservation plan that focuses on the district's
wetland resources, their condition and the regulations that
ensure their continued existence and enhancement.
The client was pleased with the finished project. "You all
were a great team and helped to create a great product,"
Rebecca Diehl, environmental protection specialist for
the Water Quality Division, Department of Energy &
Environment, wrote in an email to WSSI.
This updated Wetland Conservation Plan is expected to
be released for public review in 2018.
The project involved about eight WSSI staff from the GIS and
environmental science teams, all of which were led by Ben Rosner,
Jessica Menichino and Sarah Wills.
