50 EARN ARBOR GRANTS
The Davey Foundation has awarded
50 Arbor Grant scholarships to
students looking for a career in the
green industry.
For over 25 years, Davey has awarded
the merit-based scholarships of up
to $1,000 to green industry students
each year. A total $50,000 was
awarded this year, bringing the total
awards since the program's inception
to approximately $675,000.
This year's recipients live anywhere
from California to New York. Many of
the recipients interned with the
Davey Company.
Isabella Tafa, a student at Pennsylvania
State University, is among the 2017
Arbor Grant recipients.
NEW OFFICE IN SCHAUMBURG
Davey's Wheeling, Illinois, administrative office moved to
a more central location for the region earlier this year. The
new office, located in Schaumburg, Illinois, creates a more
conducive meeting space for area managers to meet on a
regular basis. The space is brand new and was built to suit
Davey's specific needs for the 12 people who work there.
An upgrade from the previous space in many ways, the
office is filled with natural light as nearly all the offices have
windows, including a large conference room. The office also
has room to grow in the future.

DAVEY GROWS NEW BRANCHES
Davey has opened two new Residential/Commercial (R/C)
offices to meet the demand in two major U.S. cities in the
first quarter of the year.
The additional offices, both of which are market expansions,
will better serve Chicago and Denver. These two new
offices expand Davey's presence and strengthen the
Davey brand in both markets, said Jim Stief, executive
vice president, U.S. Residential operations.
"A market expansion addresses two important elements,"
Stief said. "First, it provides our clients in the area with
additional resources. Second, it also provides opportunity
for growth, both for our employees and the Davey
Company overall."
The new Chicago office will serve the Near North Shore
area and will be led by district manager Tom Weidner.
The new South Denver office will be led by district
manager Vince Distrola.
