5 November/December 2017 | THE DAVEY BULLETIN SALUTING BRANCHES VOLUNTEERS IMPROVE VETERANS' CEMETERIES More than 2,200 industry professionals from across the continent volunteered their labor and expertise for the 3rd Annual Saluting Branches: Arborists United for Veteran Remembrance. This one-day event is an opportunity for arborists to give back to their communities and honor those who have served this country by making veterans' cemeteries throughout the U.S. a more beautiful and welcoming place to visit. This year's event was the largest yet, with 467 companies participating and about 17,600 hours of work donated throughout the country. Overall, arborists donated more than $2.2 million in services at 45 veteran cemetery locations throughout the country.
