THE DAVEY BULLETIN
SPREADING THE ECONOMIC BENEFITS OF TREES
FROM COAST TO COAST
As the tree experts, Davey employees are on a mission
to share not only their love for trees, but the reasons why
these giants of nature are so lovable.
This year, Davey corporate communications public relations
employees traveled to several conferences and events
throughout the country promoting the value of the economic
benefits of trees. And naturally, they made it into a game.
Attendees were challenged to guess the annual benefits of
the live tree displayed in Davey's booth at the conference or
event once the tree grew to a mature age of 30 years old.
The various guesses submitted by hundreds of people from
all the different events ranged from $10 to millions of dollars!
Booth visitors entered their guess to win a "tree bank," and
just by entering they received an economic benefits of trees
bookmark. In the spirit of monetary benefits, chocolate
gold coins were included with the bookmark.
"Although many people recognize the aesthetic beauty
of trees and acknowledge they are important, many don't
realize the different reasons why investing in the care of
their trees is important," said Sandra Reid, vice president,
corporate communications and strategic planning
administration. "While there are many benefits of trees, it
is important for homeowners to know that their trees can
directly save them money each year if properly cared for."
These conference attendees now have a better
understanding and appreciation of the money trees can save
them when they receive the proper care, thanks to all our
Davey experts from across the continent who chipped in.
