DAVEY
AROUND THE
A SECOND HONEYMOON IN AFRICA
Dave Gingrich, sales arborist,
Hartney Greymont-Needham
office, and his wife Emma dreamed
of taking their son Michael, 14,
to Tanzania, Africa, where they
spent their honeymoon back in
October 2004.
Their dream became a reality this
past Christmas, a trip Gingrich said
was made possible thanks to their
investment in a company stock
subscription in 2004, Gingrich said.
"It was fun to see Tanzania all these
years later and see how the country
has progressed," Gingrich said.
Gingrich said the one thing he had
to see again was a Baobob tree in
Tarangire National Park.
"I took the picture under the
Baobob, because the tree is just
special," Gingrich said. "It's a
unique tree with a lot of wildlife
around it and in it."
On their trip, they saw tons of
wildlife, from a cheetah and her
cubs to elephants. But, some
sightings were more memorable
than others, Gingrich said.
"Coming around the corner on
New Year's Day and seeing a
12-foot Black Mamba in our track
was pretty memorable," he said.
