CANADA REDUCES ENVIRONMENTAL FOOTPRINT
The Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, Limited, saves truckloads of wood each week
from going to the landfill thanks to a partnership with Sawmill Sid Inc. Sawmill Sid Inc.
repurposes the wood into products like lumber, beams, flooring, corporate gifts and
furniture—giving Ontario's valued wood another life. A simple trip to Sawmill Sid reduces
Davey's carbon footprint, saving time, fuel, money, and wear and tear on Davey's fleet
of vehicles. Sawmill Sid has prevented 2,257 tonnes of carbon from being released into
the atmosphere. Davey was the first tree company to get involved with Sawmill Sid and
inspired others in the industry to do the same. The green relationship brings us one step
closer to the goal of 100 percent recycled wood waste.
