NEW BUZZ @
ENDANGERED BEES
The U.S. Fish & Wildlife
Service has just added the rusty patched
bumblebee to its Endangered Species Act
(ESA) list.
Found in more than a dozen Midwestern
and northern states, it is the first
bumblebee to make the list.
Like all pollinators, you can do your part to
help protect them.
• PLANT A FLOWERING SHRUB OR
GARDEN. Rusty patched bumblebees
need a constant source of food from April
through October.
• PROTECT BRUSHY AREAS. Natural
areas are perfect for bees to nest.
• INCLUDE NATIVE PLANTS IN YOUR
LANDSCAPE. Bees love bright white,
yellow and blue flowers with fresh, mild
and pleasant aromas.
Are you doing your part to help the bees?
Do you have a beautiful pollinator garden
or habitat? Send us a photo of your "bee-
utiful" haven for our flower-loving friends!
