Each July, Chris Walker, landscape
foreman at the Orlando, Florida, R/C
office, and his family take a trip out to
the Florida Keys.
While there, they do all the incredibly
fun activities you'd imagine: snorkeling,
fishing, swimming and even catching
their own lobsters to eat.
Before they start relaxing and soaking
up the sun, though, they always do
one thing first – visit his late brother's
memorial under the sea.
DAVEY TREE UNDER THE SEA
"We go there every year on our Keys
trip," Walker said. "My brother, Brian,
loved everything about the Keys.
Everything. So, we had a small, glass
stone put there – Brian's Rock. As soon
as we roll into town each year, we all
look forward to visiting his memorial."
When Walker's cousin brought his
underwater camera to capture the
experience, Walker's wheels
started turning.
"We got a ton of great pictures while
we were snorkeling there and along
the reef," Walker said. "I thought it'd
be fun to take the Bulletin under the
sea. I put it in a Ziplock bag, and it
was still completely dry when we
got back on land."
Now, Walker and his family are gearing
up for their annual trip once again.
Visiting Brian's Rock will surely be
the first thing they do.
The only question remaining is, will
The MyDavey Bulletin embark on
another snorkeling trip? Or perhaps
a deep-sea dive?
