Davey CLS office coordinators met in January for a biannual training session
in Streetsboro, Ohio, just north of the corporate office.
A speaker joined the group for a day and talked about consistently providing
excellent client experience.
"We learned how to handle difficult clients, how to better interact with co-workers
and even situations we could use to improve our personal lives," says Beverly
Buckley, CLS operations administrator.
Other portions of the three-day gathering were spent by the attendees sharing
department information and tips on how to work more effectively and efficiently
together as a team.
This is the second time the office coordinators have come together for the
meeting. So far, the gatherings have proven quite beneficial, Buckley says.
"It's helpful to put a face with the name and voice of the office coordinators
I communicate with on a weekly basis and to share our ideas," she says.
EXCELLENT CLIENT EXPERIENCE FOCUS
OF CLS COORDINATORS' GATHERING
Greg Mazur, technical advisor at the Davey
Institute, presents Davey's soil amendment
research at Trees Virginia's Urban Forestry
Roundtable this February.
Those who work at Davey know
what's happening underground is just
as important as what's above ground.
Greg Mazur, technical advisor at the
Davey Institute, shared this insight
at Trees Virginia's Urban Forestry
Roundtable in February.
Together, local residents and urban
forestry experts discussed how to
build better urban soil to improve
urban trees' health and longevity. The
roundtable featured four lectures.
Mazur's presentation highlighted
soil amendment research conducted
at Davey from 1992 to 2015, with
the help of Brian Jeffers, project
supervisor, at the Davey Institute.
"Specifically, I covered the impact
of various enhancements, such as
Arbor Green
®
PRO, Mycorrhizae and
compost tea, on trees' appearance and
health. We inspected everything from
the trees' leaf color to the size of the
trees' canopy and root growth as well,"
Mazur says.
Thanks to Mazur's presentation,
Virginia's trees–and their soil–will
surely be a bit healthier.
Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc.,
a Davey company, hosted this event.
