was safely rescued and relocated, thanks to
Russell and a little help from social media.
In Naples, Florida, District Manager Dan
Powell and his crew, Marcos Camacho,
Derek Harris, Rich Wiland, Aaron Jaques
and Dylan Jaques stepped in to aid the
Conservancy of Southwest Florida with a
baby riverhawk relocation. "They rely on
us to do these rescues because nobody
has the equipment to get the job done,"
said Dan. "For this rescue, we built a nest
using a baby pool and pine needles. It was
definitely gratifying to help out."
And in the Mile-High City, Davey assisted
in the preservation of two about-to-be-
destroyed beehives. Because bees are
pollinators of particular importance, Davey
found the hives a great new home: with a
science teacher living on a few acres of land
in nearby Aurora, Colorado.
"The science teacher was interested in the
science behind the hives as well as the
impact bees have on the environment,"
blogged Sally Mayberry, Public Affairs Officer,
GSA Rocky Mountain Region.
Coming to the rescue is all in a day's work
for Davey.
