Giant
Encounters
Scott Suffron, district manager of Davey
Canada's Burnaby office, captures a photo of
this sequoia tree in Aggasiz, British Columbia.
Social Hour
A Davey booth visitor smiles for the camera
as she uses a selfie stick to capture a
special moment with the #TreeLove tree at
September's Garden Writers' Association
Symposium in Pasadena, California. Attend-
ees who visited Davey's booth wrote their
favorite tree benefit on a tag to hang on a
tree inside the booth. Then, they used their
cell phones and Davey-provided selfie sticks
to take photos of themselves with the tree
and a heart-shaped prop to illustrate their
favorite tree benefit. To enter Davey's selfie
contest, attendees uploaded their photos to
social media using the hashtag #TreeLove.
R.J. Laverne, manager of education and
training at the Davey Institute, and Anne
Fenkner, project developer for Davey
Resource Group, occupied Davey's booth
in custom "Tree Doctor" lab coats to greet
visitors and answer tree-related questions.
