Y
osemite National Park, nestled
within California's majestic Sierra
Nevada Mountains, is known for its
breathtaking waterfalls, vast valleys and
ancient giant sequoias.
Yosemite's eye-catching landscape and
125-year history as a national park made
it the perfect platform for the 81st annual
Western Chapter International Society of
Arboriculture (WCISA) conference, with
a record-breaking 400 attendees.
Four Davey Resource Group (DRG)
employees attended, including Tina McKeand,
Emily Spillett, Dana Karcher and Anne
Fenkner, as well as Sales Arborist Nicholas
Crawford from the San Francisco R/C office.
Karcher, DRG western region market
manager, has volunteered with the WCISA
for 10 years including serving as board
member and president. For her leadership
skills and commitment to the chapter and
the tree industry, Karcher received the
2015 WCISA Award of Commendation.
"Dana believes opportunities like this are
important and valuable to Davey employees,
and encourages more employees to attend,"
Crawford says.
To commemorate Karcher's achievement
and the great memories she and other Davey
attendees gained during the conference,
they grabbed the latest MyDavey Bulletin
and gathered for a group photo at Yosemite's
Mariposa Grove.
