A New Beginning
I
often associate the beginning of the
year with resolutions, renewal and an
overwhelming desire for change. But why not
recognize and appreciate the new experiences
you encounter in all phases of the year?
As the last quarter of 2014 begins, you
may be excited to celebrate several holidays,
venture to scenic hiking trails and chat around
the campfire. Perhaps you look forward to
the transformations of your clients' properties
as a result of Davey's seasonal services.
In light of any and all changes you expect
through the end of the year, let me introduce
myself as the new MyDavey Bulletin editor.
I look forward to discovering more stories
to share with you and your families, as well
as re-telling the MyDavey experiences you
share with me and the MyDavey Bulletin team.
After all, it's the anecdotes we read and
listen to, like the few I've listed below, that
remind me why it's so rewarding to capture
and communicate the lives, ideas and
motivations behind all past and present
Davey employees:
"I just wanted to let you guys know how much
me and my family appreciate me working for Davey.
It has been a wonderful experience; I appreciate the
opportunity to work in a safe atmosphere."
–Michael Horner, trimmer on the Detroit
Edison account.
"When I talk about Davey, I get a sense of
family. From the National Managers' Meeting to
other company events, that's what makes the company
a lot stronger." –Rob Craft, business development
manager, Commercial Landscape Services.
"Davey, to me, feels more like a family than I could
have ever imagined. I look forward to many years
with Davey; many good times, many good friends and
many more trees to touch." –Terry Brier, district
manager, Portland R/C.
"Many families work for Davey; it's a family
company." –Helen Tucker, retiree who worked
alongside a few family members at the
corporate office for 27 years. She came back
in late July to visit Davey's new offices in
downtown Kent, Ohio.
As always, please direct any comments,
questions and your own MyDavey stories

hear from you!
