Autumn is a second spring where every leaf is a flower." ~ Albert Camus 1 Fall Fertilization Fertilizing in early fall can strengthen plant roots during the bitter winter months, as well as restore nutrition and keep trees healthy, particularly if the summer was dry. 2 D eadwood Pruning Removing any deadwood that exists on your trees and shrubbery is crucial so plants can grow in a healthy manor and live a prolonged life. Not only does this help boost safety on a property with the removal of loose and weak branches, but it also improves the health and aesthetics of the tree, ensuring better growth in spring. 3 C abling & Bracing Providing cabling and bracing, particularly to the weakest parts of older trees, can help these green assets on your property survive longer. Minor tree defects can be easily treated with cabling and bracing, resulting in a stronger and more stable tree that can continue to provide benefits for many years to come. 4 D ormant Oil Treatments At summer's end, many insects lay unwanted eggs on trees that can stay in place until the new larvae are born. Dormant horticultural oils act as a smothering agent, snuffing out a majority of these potential leaf-eaters. The product is also one of the safest on the market to keep insects under control. 5 P lanting The early fall season is one of the best times of the year to plant new trees because the cooler temperatures place less stress on trees. Also, since the tree will be dormant during the winter season, the roots will stay fresh and can absorb nutrients so when spring's peak growing season comes back around, the tree will be prepared to grow in full.
