Vice President, Western Operations, Jed Day (left), Vice President of Corporate
Communications and Strategic Planning Sandra Reid (center) and Executive Director of
the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration (AAPRA) Rich Grodsky
meet at the Honorable Cornelius Amory Pugsley Awards ceremony in October. Parks
supporters Beverly Chrisman, John Davis and Barry Tindall received recognition for their
contributions to U.S. public parks. AAPRA presents the Pugsley Award in partnership with
the National Park Foundation and Davey. "Davey is proud of its involvement with awarding
Pugsley Medal winners because they exemplify the green-minded qualities our company
has valued since its beginning," Reid says. Visit www.aapra.org for more information.
Recognizing Appreciation
for Public Parks
To coincide with the history theme at the Tree Care Industry Association's (TCIA) 75th
annual TCI EXPO in mid-November, Davey educated attendees and online followers
with historical facts about the company. The company's booth featured Davey's restored
1931 Ford Model AA spray rig, as well as a 1957 Wolf Tree power wagon. Attendees had
the opportunity to meet Marketing/Communications' Tom Hutchins (pictured with Davey
retiree Bill Heim), who dressed in historical clothing at the booth during the show. The
Davey Institute's Jim Zwack shared his presentation titled, "How to Incorporate Tree
Injection into Your Business/PHC Service" during the conference as well.
