Watering is critical, ParticUlarly
WitH yoUnger, less establisHed trees.
M
ost of a tree's active roots are within the top 18 inches of soil, so
watering is critical, particularly with younger, less established trees.
Coiling a drip hose underneath the dripline of the tree (width of the
tree's canopy) and letting it run for several hours is a good option.
Young trees may require
as much as 2 inches
of rainfall per week to
grow healthy and strong.
Monitor your trees dur-
ing hot summer months
or times of drought to
ensure your trees are get-
ting the water they need
to thrive.
