9 September/October 2024 | THE DAVEY BULLETIN The destruction left by the storms led to approximately 120 Davey employees helping in restoration and cleanup efforts. Half of the employees came from the local Wolf Tree's City of Tallahassee account, while additional aid came from employees on the Central Florida Electric Cooperative, Florida Travel Crews, Orange County, Orlando Utility Commissions, and Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative accounts. "They couldn't believe all the debris and devastation that happened," Hudson said. "Everybody in the crews worked well together with each other and the community, and it led to a good outcome." A seemingly normal, stormy morning turned devastating as one EF-1 and two EF-2 tornadoes swept across Tallahassee, Florida, prompting multiple Davey employees to respond. "I was in my truck checking everybody in for the day when the rain and wind started, and the crew scattered," said Marlon Hudson, general foreman, Wolf Tree, Inc., a Davey company, City of Tallahassee account. "I rolled up my window, and the next thing I knew, my truck was lifted off the ground for a few seconds."
